Hello to all John Moonet fans. I'm a long time fan and old friend of John who had the pleasure of seeing John's first publilc performance back in 1972 at the Cottage Hotel in Mendon, NY between sets of the Swamp Root String Band, who also featured Briuan Williams future bass player for John on his first two Blind Pig LPs. I remember seeing John MANY MANY times. I best remember his backing up Son House at the old Genesee Co-op back in the mid-90s. I wish I had a tape recorder handy. I saw Son a dozen or so times before his wife dragged him out of town and that was the best with John chugging away at the rhythm while Son sang and played his slide. WOw! Whar a memory! Son drank half my liquor that night, too, because I was so close to the stage and an easy mark.
I'm pretty sure I have a few cassette recordings of John from way back then, too. I even borrowede his band for a gig at a Festival once. They backed me up on three tunes.

As always... too long no see. In my mind I can still see the days back in Boulder Creek / Big Basin / Zayante, California in the 70's. We are getting some old friends together for the Blues Fest in Tucson (October). See you there my friend.

I heard your music this morning on KPFT Sunday blues show. Awesome sound. Wonder when you will make it to Houston.

I'll never forget the time I met the Moon Man in Ottawa at the Rainbow Bistro during Blues fest somwhere around 2000 or so. John please come back to Ottawa soon.

was giving a friend a tour of nola and we walked into the bowling alley not knowing you were there.

John - saw you last Friday night while in NO. Man, you and the band were rockin' that place. I loved the Jimmy Reed diddy at the end of your first set. You inspire me Bro. Hope to see you in the ATL soon.
